‘Absurdly good’ – Everton fans are saying this about former Derby County loanee
Everton fans have been having their say on Kieran Dowell, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Derby County.
The 22-year-old midfielder has completed a permanent move to Norwich City, who will play in the Championship next season having been relegated.
Dowell was on loan at Wigan Athletic in the second half of the campaign.
The England Under-21 international joined Everton at the age of seven and was at the club for 15 years, but managed only two league appearances.
As well as at Derby and at Wigan, he also had loan spells at Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United.
Here’s what Everton fans are saying about Dowell’s move.
Sean Lunt: Shame that someone like Dowell couldn’t make it at Everton but sure he’ll shine for Norwich. Good Championship player who needs that playing time to kick on.
Ell Bretland: I’m pleased for Dowell getting a permanent move now at 22 after four loans. His technical ability is absurdly good and scores the type of worldies that would get you on Soccer AM every week. Won’t rule out seeing him in the Premier League again but the right move for Everton now.
Adam Barrow: Kieran Dowell always looked a huge talent just couldn’t ever get near the first team enough, seems a really good championship player, hope he does well for Norwich and see him in the prem again one day
Toffee TV: Makes sense this move. Kieran Dowell needs to put down some roots and get his career started really. Good luck to the lad.
Neil: Good luck to Kieran Dowell, he needed a permanent move for the sake of his career. Hopefully he can go there and do what he’s done at three of his previous four loan spells. A player I really thought would make it at Everton. Great talent, great left peg.
