Sheffield United could be set for a boost to the coffers this summer as Bournemouth believe they can land around £40m for their midfielder, David Brooks.

Nathan Ake is already on his way to Manchester City for around £40m. And now, according to The Sun, Bournemouth also believe they’ll get a similar fee when it comes to selling Brooks.

Brooks returned from injury at the end of last season but couldn’t do enough to stop Bournemouth dropping out of the Premier League for the first time since they got there. Subsequently, Eddie Howe has now left his role as manager.

With players on big contracts and wages, a fire sale is expected. Along with Ake, Callum Wilson, Josh King, and Brooks are all expected to leave.

Any boost is good at this troubling time, hopefully, someone snaps Brooks up – Our View

The global economic crisis means that any boost in revenue will be welcomed with open arms at Bramall Lane.

And in fairness to the Blades, this is exactly why the club inserted the sell-on clause that they did with Brooks.

While it’s unknown how much, the Bournemouth Echo did confirm a clause was inserted in the deal. Similar deals involving Harry Maguire and Kyle Walker have seen the Blades bring in around 10%.

If Brooks does go for £40m, then a nice £4m in the coffers will do just nicely for Chris Wilder and Stephen Bettis.
