But Steven Gerrard has categorically denied that the Colombian international is for sale – and new sporting director Ross Wilson did the same yesterday when he spoke to media for the first time.
Brendan Rodgers had been reportedly interested in Morelos in the summer, with some Rangers fans hoping he was on the wind-up because of his links to Celtic.
Wilson said yesterday: “We want our best players to stay here as long as they possibly can.
“We understand that like every other club in world football that there comes a point when players have to move on to something else for a variety of reasons.”
