Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Aubameyang’s shock Chelsea link, player plus cash Coutinho deal

Arsenal have endured a rough 2019/20 Premier League campaign and recruitment is needed.

The Premier League season is now done and dusted and clubs are already tussling for signatures, and Arsenal are no different.

Whilst the coronavirus pandemic will likely mean clubs are less willing to spend cash, the short gap between the current campaign and next term will make for a condensed and far more interesting transfer period.

The rumour mill is already going into overdrive with the transfer window just a day old, and with that in mind, here are the latest Arsenal rumours doing the rounds.

Aubameyang eyed shock move

Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang plotted a shock move to Chelsea in January, but saw the deal collapse due his high wage demands.

Aubameyang has scored 27 goals this season, but with talks over a new deal appearing to stall, he will become a free agent next summer, as things stand.

And according to a report from Sportsmail, the Gunners captain sounded out a move to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

Coutinho offer

A new report from the Independent claims that Arsenal have been handed the chance to sign Philippe Coutinho.

The report claims that the Gunners hierarchy have offered just £9million plus Matteo Guendouzi to try and complete the deal this summer.

Coutinho’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, is keen on securing a move back to the Premier League for his client after a disappointing spell with Barcelona.

Betis eyeing Ceballos

Real Betis are targeting Dani Ceballos in the upcoming transfer window, according to a report from Marca.

The Spanish publication claims that Antonio Cordon, the new sporting director of Betis is drawing up plans for the upcoming transfer window, and Ceballos is reportedly on the list of players the club would like to sign.

The Betis sporting director spoke about the player to Spanish radio station Onda Cero recently.

He said:“We all know how good a player Ceballos is, we know his past and he’s a very interesting player. Going forward, we’re going to have a look at our staff, our squad and how we’re going to play.”
