Mohamed Elyounoussi’s first words after sealing Celtic return from Southampton
Mohamed Elyounoussi says the love Celtic fans showed him on social media helped make his mind up on a return to the Scottish champions.
The 25-year-old attacker has agreed another season-long loan with Neil Lennon’s side.
He’s been training with the club in pre-season, and says he’s delighted to now formally extend his stay in Glasgow.
He told Celtic TV: “I have to admit since the league was stopped I got a lot of positive messages from fans. For me to take another year. That made the decision a lot easier.
“Its an interesting season ahead. I think I can do more than what I did last season. The injury stopped everything but I’ll try to do even more this year.

“Me and the boys have been working hard in the break. The physical coaches have been doing exceptional work, and giving us homework. We’ve been training well in the break, and it’s been good coming back. We’re looking forward to the season ahead.
“It’s maybe one of the biggest seasons in the history of Celtic – so no pressure! We’re looking forward to it. We’ve been working really hard. We’re sure the other teams in the league have been working hard to try to stop us, but we’re going to give everything and hope we can play the games with our fans as soon as possible. Hopefully with their help we can achieve something great.

He added: “The winning mentality is still there. Even if it’s just a passing drill, games in training. Everyone wants to win all the time and that’s going to help us achieve our goals.”
Elyounoussi played 20 times for Celtic last season, scoring seven goals in the process.
