Richarlison calls Brazilian who had five-year Everton dream dashed
A Brazilian Everton fan had saved up for five years to afford to travel to England to watch his beloved Blues – only for the coronavirus crisis to scupper his dream trip.
And to say thanks to 23-year-old Bruno for his support, Richarlison made a surprise call to his compatriot.
However, the Covd-19 pandemic forced him to spend 33 days in lockdown with friends in the UK before flying home to Brazil.
Bruno has been an Everton fan since he was 13 and has followed the progress of Richarlison since his days at America Mineiro and so to receive a call from the Blues’ talisman left him stunned.
“When I saw you play, I thought: Imagine this kid shining with the Brazilian team shirt, or with my team [Everton’s] shirt,” said Bruno.
“And now you’re calling me, I can’t believe it!”
Richarlison says he will send signed Everton merchandise to Bruno and be sure to meet up with him at Goodison when football returns to normal.
“Mate, I’m calling with the greatest joy,” Richarlison said.
“You, in addition to being a Brazilian, are an Everton fan and tried to fulfil the dream of seeing our team playing at the stadium. We will send you an autographed shirt, boots and a kit of Everton products.”
